Progress meeting and workshop on ciliopathies in Paris

Another progress meeting has come to an end and we all are one step closer to finishing our ITN training. This time our progress meeting was held by our Parisian groups led by Sophie Saunier and Alexandre Benmerah at the Institut Imagine. All fellows gave a short talks about their projects in form of conference presentation. It was amazing to see the evolvement of all students and projects!

Next day, we participated on the Workshop on Ciliopathies that took place at the Imagine Institut again and was visited not only by us and researches at Imagine but also by members of other consortia: CIL-L'ICO and TheRaCil. It was not only opportunity to learn about new research but also for much important networking. One of our fellows Csenge Rezi gave a talk about her work on Dlg1 protein and our work was also mentioned by our PIs: Soren Christensen who was a keynote speaker, Lars Allan Larsen, Sophie Saunier and Alessandra Boletta.

Last day of our meeting, we attend a workshop on Grant Writing and fundraising which was prepared by our fellow Guilia Ferri. She managed to get together a great program and guests se we got the opportunity to get information about Grant writing - especially focus on Postdoctoral fellowships, philanthropy and fundraising. The workshop was complemented by round table on the topic: "Are there jobs after the PhD? Opportunities to pursue a career in the lab and beyond" where we heard from scientist who decided to leave bench work and pursue scientific carrier from a different perspective.
