Cilia Summer School 2021

18-22 October 2021 - Carry-le-Rouet, France

On Monday started the five-day Cilia Summer School organised by our #MSCA #ITN #scils_eu and the French #GDRcil. We’ve heard all about IFT trains and molecular composition; we got acquainted with all kinds of model organisms that can be used to study primary and motile cilia including zebrafish, protozoa, planaria and xenopus. We also had session about cilia in development, differentiation and disease and learnt how to utilize multi-omics tools and bio-informatics in cilia research. It was a pretty intense week and we learnt a ton of new things!

But attending talks was not all! Part of our summer school was also Pro-action café hosted by Ronald Roepman. During several afternoons, we were discussing urgent questions in cilia field in four main categories: signalling, tools/models/evolution, ciliopathy/therapy and protein/cilia function & length. We also designed and presented projects using several different model organisms in groups. Our cilia summer school also included poster session!

It was a great opportunity for networking and most importantly making friends!

More from our week in France on our twitter or instagram.

Now our poster session!
